This is definitely not the Thunder From Down Under.
Local audiences are invited to check out the hilarity that is The Comic Strippers, a “sexylarious” improv comedy show that’s coming to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The show centres around a fictitious male stripper troupe, played by a cast of some of Canada’s best improvisational comedians who try to be sexy, but it just comes out funny.
“Constantly grooving and gyrating in between scenes, they banter with the crowd and perform their hilarious twist on improv sketches,” a press release notes. “They sing, they ‘dance.’ These guys are oiled up and ready to make you laugh at them.”
Their shows are, as the release puts it, “semi undressed and completely unscripted,” and the performers take audience suggestions as they go.
The show was a smash hit at the Adelaine Fringe in Australia and has recently been selling out theatres across Canada.
The show is for audiences aged 19 and up only, and it’s for all genders.
