Art is for everyone.

The Edmonds Community Centre recently celebrated the culmination of a community arts engagement project.

The centre held a photo showcase on Tuesday, Jan. 28 to celebrate the work of participants in the program.

Sixty-five Burnaby youth and students from the Edmonds Adult Partners in Education program worked with photographers Marleen Eberding and Mona Lochan.

With the photographers, they learned basic photography skills and took to the streets in the Edmonds area to document their surroundings.

They explored themes of home, environment community and self through their work, and they learned techniques of photomontage, composition and observation with a series of art-related practices.
