Art lovers can explore new works among the stacks at Burnaby Public Library branches.
The Burnaby Art Gallery has opened two new off-site exhibitions at library branches.
At the Bob Prittie (Metrotown) library at 6100 Willingdon Ave., you can check out From the Collection: The Many Worlds of Jack Wise. It’s underway until Dec. 6.
The exhibition features a selection of work by Wise, reproduced in various media.
At the McGill library branch at 4595 Albert St., it’s Brigitta Kocsis: Universal Gravitation.
A press release notes that Kocsis’ recent series of works is “populated by mechanical elements, fractured and recombined with human forms, and colourful abstract elements.”
“Gesturing towards technology’s intersection with the physical, material world, her new compositions are open to interpretation and based in process, allowing the viewer to drift between ambiguous shapes and forms,” the release notes.
The Kocsis exhibition is underway until Dec. 7.
