Burnaby Summer Theatre's production of The Underlasting Forest is featured this week
Underlasting Forest
The Burnaby Summer Theatre production of The Underlasting Forest is on in the backyard of Deer Lake Gallery for performances Aug. 20 and 26, and as part of Live at the Gallery on Aug. 21.

Deer Lake Gallery is inviting people to enjoy live entertainment this week.

The Burnaby Arts Council’s gallery is hosting a Live at the Gallery session this Saturday, Aug. 21.

The event, set for 6:30 p.m. in the gallery backyard, will feature two acts: a performance by the young sibling duo Francis and Francheska, with classical violin and guitar; and a performance of the Burnaby Summer Theatre production The Underlasting Forest.

Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy the performances.

Families can also enjoy performances of The Underlasting Forest in the gallery backyard on two other dates: Friday, Aug. 20 and Thursday, Aug. 26. Shows are at noon and 2 p.m.

The show tells the story of Andy and Killian, two children who get transported into a dark, lonely forest inhabited by a mysterious figure, The Grey. The two must find the courage to escape the forest and make their way home together.

Performances are free and open to everyone; the gallery notes the show is appealing for young families, daycare groups, summer camps and more.

Deer Lake Gallery is at 6584 Deer Lake Ave.
