Want to get them dancing in the streets of New West this summer? Seen here is a previous Uptown Unplugged performance. Now the Arts Council of New Westminster wants performers for its summer music program for 2022.

Calling all Metro Vancouver musicians.

If you're looking for places to perform this summer, you might be a good fit for the Arts Council of New Westminster's summer music program.

Organizers are looking for musicians in a variety of musical styles that reflect "cultural and artistic diversity," and both established and emerging artists are welcome to apply.

As part of its accessibility and inclusion mission, the arts council is also working to break down exclusionary barriers and create a platform for marginalized voices.  Artists on the LGBTQ spectrum, non-binary artists, artists of colour, Indigenous artists and artists with disabilities are encouraged to submit applications.

If any artist needs access accommodations, they're asked to contact the arts council's executive director, Stephen O'Shea, via email or phone at 604-525-3244.

The application deadline is May 1. Anyone requiring accommodations is asked to get in touch at least 10 days before that so that arrangements can be made.

You can find all the details and an application form online.
