The Burnaby Public Library is presenting a special celebratory reading of Stephen Leacock's Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town.

The event is taking place on Thursday, June 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the McGill branch of the library.

Librarians will read selected stories from the Canadian humour classic, and 20 archival photographs of Burnaby circa 1912 will be on display.

Refreshments will also be served, and Susan Reimer of the Burnaby Camping Bureau will be on hand to talk a bit about the program - which helps kids from low-income families to attend the summer camp of their choice.

Tickets will be available at the door by donation, with a suggested donation of $10.

Tickets will be available at 6 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The event is recommended for adults, teens and children aged 10 and up.

The McGill library branch is at 4595 Albert St. in North Burnaby. Call 604-299-8955 or see www.bpl.bc.ca/events for more details.
