The Burnaby Art Gallery is reaching out into the community with two new exhibitions at local libraries.

The Burnaby Public Library's Bob Prittie branch, at Metrotown, plays host to Christina Bernadette Gray's series Vancouver A-Frames.

The series is an investigation of the A-frame structure in Vancouver's urban landscape - in private homes, ski lodges, electrical outbuildings, garden sheds, museums, IHOP restaurants and churches.

A former Vancouver resident, Gray is currently working on an advanced degree in architecture at UCLA in Los Angeles.

Her work can be seen at the Bob Prittie Library, 6100 Willingdon Ave., until Jan. 8.

At the McGill library branch in North Burnaby, visitors can check out James Mah's Small Portraits - a series of prints, drawings and paintings of public figures such as writers, poets, musicians and others.

That exhibition is on at the library, 4595 Albert St., until Jan. 9.
