Love live music? Then get ready to party in Burnaby for Canada Day.
The city’s Canada Day celebrations are once again featuring a host of live music options.
At the Edmonds celebrations, running from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Edmonds plaza and park, you can hear from Burnaby singer-songwriter Stephen Scaccia (read more about him here), Canadian Celtic folk band Blackthorn, and Rainshadow, with their eclectic mix of tunes from the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.
The city is also hosting its annual free, family-friendly concert at Swangard Stadium, with doors opening at 5 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. concert. Audiences will enjoy alt-soul band The Boom Booms and Juno Award-winning indie rockers Said the Whale, along with DJ Khanvict, whose style blends elements of classic Bollywood, Sufi and Panjabi music with bass, moombahton and trap.
The concert ends with fireworks at dusk.
You can also enjoy a variety of family activities at Edmonds, plus stop by Burnaby Village Museum for free family fun there as well.
