Confidance show coming to Burnaby

A dance extravaganza that has been seen all over the world is coming to Burnaby in October.

ConfiDance, choreographed by Shiamak Davar, journeys through the world of contemporary, Bollywood jazz, hip hop, Indo-jazz and more – complete with extravagant sets, colourful costumes and highly trained dancers.

The Shiamak Dance Team from Vancouver consists of performers who are handpicked by Davar and who receive intensive training in dance technique and performance.

“Being on stage is a very important part of the performing arts experience,” said Davar in a press release.

“We introduced the ConfiDance show to give a platform to students with potential who want to train in different dance styles to perform in a professional show.

“The dance team trains for months to understand what goes into putting up a stage show. From dance rehearsals, backstage, production, costumes, sets and properties, this show is a complete team effort by these students and my instructors.”

ConfiDance is on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Michael J. Fox Theatre, 7373 MacPherson Ave.
