Opera lovers, don't miss the next Opera for a Sunday afternoon concert at the Shadbolt.
Burnaby Lyric Opera is continuing with its Sunday afternoon concert series on Nov. 24 at 3 p.m.
The concert, which will be the group's Christmas fundraiser, will feature highlights from Engelbert Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel.
"This opera is not only a musical masterpiece but a perennial favourite with children and adults alike," noted Burnaby Lyric Opera's Linda-Marie James in an email.
Once again, the group is featuring a cast of young opera singers from around the Lower Mainland - including Burnaby's own Mark Pepe, who sings the Witch.
He's joined by Robin Eder-Warren, Courtney Bridge, Lisa-Dawn Markle, Andrey Andreychik and Sinéad Plunkett-Bazi.
Musical director is Richard Coombes.
Tickets are $15, available through the Shadbolt box office at 604-205-3000 or online at tickets.shadboltcentre.com.
The concert will be in Studio 103 at the Shadbolt, 6450 Deer Lake Ave.
