Love to sing? Looking to belong to a high-quality choral ensemble?

Singers of all voice types are being invited to audition for the newly formed Burnaby Chamber Choir, an SATB ensemble that will be devoted to "performing the finest gems of the sacred and secular choral repertoire in an intimate setting," as a press release explains.

Marc D'Anjou, recently arrived from Quebec City - where he directed the Quebec Symphony Orchestra Choir, the Laval University Choir and the Ensemble Polyphonique de Québec - will lead the new choir.

Marc is looking for singers with accurate pitch and good ensemble singing ability. During an audition, singers will be asked to sing simple scales and intervals, reproduce melodies played on the piano and sing a short song of their choice.

Rehearsals will be held Tuesday evenings at South Burnaby United Church, at Gray Avenue and Rumble Street.

To audition, email march at burnabychamberchoir@gmail.com - provide your name, your voice part, your email address, your phone number, the best time to call and a brief summary of your choral experience.
