WHAT’S UP?
5 Paintings in a Weekend is a workshop offered at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, designed for people aged 18 and up.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
It’s on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, in the Shadbolt’s Studio F.
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
Instructor Eri Ishii works to “encourage the intuitive way of making a painting and by doing so, aims to facilitate individual strengths,” a write-up about the workshop says.
Participants are asked to bring five painting surfaces and will be working on them concurrently. The write-up notes that the class covers various aspects of painting: working with different mediums, mixing colours, using greys and creating depth in your work.
DO I NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE AND BRING SUPPLIES?
Some experience in oil painting is helpful, but not necessary. Oil painting is preferred, but acrylic painting can be accommodated. A list of materials required for the workshop will be provided when you sign up.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
The workshop cost is $144.50, or $116.50 for seniors. You can sign up at the city’s online registration site at www.burnaby.ca/webreg. For more details, check out www.shadboltcentre.com.
