Elvis is in the building. To be correct, several of them will be in the building - and all in honour of the original "king" himself.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, impersonators from around B.C. - including Ron Scott from Burnaby - will be at the Admiral Pub for the official Elvis Presley Fan Club of B.C.'s annual Tribute to Elvis celebration. Presley died 34 years ago, on Aug. 16, 1977. The group gathers annually to mark the date with a special celebration.

Scott, a life-long fan of the king of rock 'n' roll, won the non-professional division in a contest recently at the annual Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival, held in Penticton. More than 30 performers from around North American competed at the event.

The free fan club event kicks off at 7 p.m., at the Admiral Pub and Grill at 4125 E. Hastings St. Entrance is free but reservations are recommended at 604-298-7158.

For more information, see the fan club's website at www.lovingyouelvis.com.
