Jonathan Majors stars as Montgomery Allen and Jimmie Fails as Jimmie Fails in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, screening Feb. 28 for Last Mondays at the Movies at Anvil Centre.

The next Last Mondays at the Movies screening in New Westminster will play tribute to Black History Month.

The Last Black Man in San Francisco screens on Monday, Feb. 28 at the Anvil Centre Theatre (777 Columbia St.) as part of the Arts Council of New Westminster's film series.

The film follows the story of Jimmie Fails, who dreams of reclaiming the home his grandfather built in the heart of San Francisco – a now expensive Victorian house. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019, where it won awards for Best Directing and a Special Jury Prize for Creative Collaboration.

The movie screens at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $9, or $8 for seniors and students, available online.
