A unique adaptation of a short story by sci-fi master Ray Bradbury is onstage at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts this month.

Calgary’s Ghost River Theatre is bringing its audio-only theatrical production, Tomorrow’s Child, to the stage March 14 through 17.

The performance is presented to a blindfolded audience. Bradbury’s classic short story presents two parents in an imagined future confronting the realities of their newborn baby, who has been born into another dimension. Will they accept the divide? Or will they find another solution?

“This ain’t no radio play,” a press release says. “The quirks of 1950s sci-fi are reimagined for a highly immersive sonic environment, created with the latest in sound technology. This is an unforgettable sonic journey that has to be heard to be believed.”

Tomorrow’s Child is onstage Wednesday, March 14 to Saturday, March 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $36 regular, or $15 for youth. See tickets.shadboltcentre.com or call 604-205-3000.
