1 Get entertained with Dances for a Small Stage: Live at the 'Bolt, on Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. This performance series features dance artists showcasing their work on a 10-foot-by-13-foot stage. 2 Get ready for fall on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Nikkei Fall Harvest Festival. There will be cooking classes with Tojo. Space is limited for this demonstration, talk and tasting with one of Vancouver's most famous chefs. Members pay $55, non-members, $60, and the classes are from 1 to 3 p.m. Register by calling 604-777-7000. Afterwards, the centre is hosting its first community awards and fundraising dinner. 4 Get swapping on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Kidstuff Swapmeet at the Willingdon Community Centre, from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. The centre is at 1491 Carleton Ave., and admission is free.

5 Get celebrating Mother Nature for World Rivers Day on Sunday, Sept. 25. Volunteers will remove invasive plant species and plant native flora and trees by Guichon Creek, at BCIT in Burnaby. The invasive species work runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but there are eco-themed Rivers Day activities and entertainment on from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be cultural displays, a farmers' market, a barbecue, a fish release, horse and buggy rides and a climbing wall. Everything is free. For the invasive plant removal, meet at the parking lot near BCIT's "Gate East 1" by Wayburne Drive and Ford Street. Organizers ask that people carpool, cycle or take transit.
