We're continuing with our popular feature - our staff's Top 5 (Or More) Things To Do This Weekend. We've moved publication to our Friday editions. For this week's feature, we have two free community fairs and a worthy cause to donate to.

1 Get swimming Friday, July 22 for free at Kensington pool, from 8 to 10 p.m. This swim is for youth 10 to 16 years old. A hot dog and beverage costs $1. Info: 604-671-1000. This is the last free swim of the season for youth at Kensington pool.

2 Get celebrating all things Fijian this Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Swangard Stadium. The Fiji Festival features a soccer tournament, food, a fashion show and entertainment. Free admission. For more information, call 604-434-3920.

3 Get eating local produce at the farmers' market, this Saturday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is in the Burnaby Village Museum, at 6501 Deer Lake Ave. Raspberries, cherries, produce, fish, soaps, salsa, lemonade, jams, and silk scarves are just some of the items on sale. There's also a kids' play area, a book exchange, a newspaper reading area and live music. Info: www.artisan markets.ca.

4 Get donating at the new Project Gearing Up event this Saturday, July 23. This project was started as an assignment for a group of SFU students. They are asking for donations of reusable sporting equipment for families in need. The drop-off location is the Bill Copeland Sports Centre, at 3676 Kensington Ave., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Info: www.projectgearingup.ca.

5 Get entertained at the Edmonds City Fair this Sunday, July 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the family for fun, food, games and prizes. There will also be a classic car show. The event is on Edmonds Street, between Canada Way and Kingsway.
