Board of trade golf tourney helps KidSport Burnaby

The Burnaby Board of Trade is holding its annual golf tournament on Sept. 7. This year's charity tournament will be at the Riverway Golf Course. The golf tournament and dinner is $235 for members and $275 for non-members.

This year's charity tournament will be at the Riverway Golf Course.

The golf tournament and dinner is $235 for members and $275 for non-members.

The cost for the dinner without participating in the tournament is $60 for members and $75 for non-members.

Charity player's packs include tickets to the grand prize raffle, mulligans for the tournament and fun activities throughout the day.

The packs are an additional $50 and proceeds go to KidSport Burnaby.

PLANNING AHEAD

The Burnaby North Road Business Association is hold its annual general meeting on Sept. 14.

The meeting is slated to take place at the Cameron Recreation Complex from 5: 30 to 7: 30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Mayor Derek Corrigan will be speaking at the meeting about developments in Burnaby.

PLAY THE PART FOR SUCCESS

SUCCESS is looking for volunteers for mock interviews for two of its job search programs in Burnaby.

The organization provides social services to newcomers such as settlement, employment and health and housing support in B.C.

The volunteers would help job seekers practise their interview skills.

An orientation and training session is provided to volunteers selected for the program.

Volunteers would help immigrant job seekers gain interview experience while obtaining first-hand interview experience themselves.

The interviews are 20 minutes each and vol-unteers are given the job seekers' resumes, as well as the job postings.

Volunteers must be fluent in spoken English and have strong communication skills, as well as the ability to work with multicultural clientele.

Shifts are 3.5 hours on weekdays, once or twice a month, usually on Thursdays between 9: 30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
