New stops added to Heights tour

Last month I reported that Richard Wolak, writer and founder of www.VancouverFoodster.com, was organizing a Tasting Plates tour of The Heights for Dec. 11.

Wolak recently contacted me to let me know additional stops have been added to the tour since that story ran.

In addition to the four locations previously reported - Cioffi's Meat Market and Deli, Caffe Divano, Chez Christophe Chocolaterie Patisserie and Glenburn Soda Fountain and Confectionery - those taking the tour will also stop at Posh Pantry, Stan's Pizza Joint and Yo Sushi.

Campo Marzio opens first store in Canada

Metropolis at Metrotown has seen a number of new shops open during the past two years, including the new Target and Microsoft stores this year.

But the most recent addition to the shopping centre brings an Italian flair to the Burnaby mall.

Campo Marzio Design, an Italian-based boutique, held its grand opening at Metrotown last week.

Though the company has stores throughout the world, this is the first Campo Marzio location in Canada.

The store sells everything from brightly coloured pens to leather accessories to stationery, according to an email from the company.

Muir Investment moves to Metrotower II

Campo Marzio wasn't the only new business to set up shop in the Metrotown area last week - the Muir Investment team of Raymond James Ltd. also celebrated the grand opening of their new Burnaby office in Metrotower II.

Eric Muir, who has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years, started the team with financial adviser Raymond James from National Bank, according to a press release.

The Muir Investment team's mission is to provide "customized wealth management strategies and portfolio management to professionals, business owners and pre-retired individuals," the release from the team stated.
