Green Talks, an annual breakfast event, is part of the board of trade’s Pledge for a Sustainable Community, an initiative that began back in 2013 and encourages businesses in the city to improve their environmental performance.

Green Talks will feature guest speakers from the City of Burnaby, Sole Food Street Farms, bullfrog power, Ricoh, Embedding Project and cycling advocate HUB. Each presenter will give five-minute talks on an array of environmental topics, noted a press release.

Topics include urban farming and renewable energy, added the release.

Breakfast will be served and there will be time for networking. The event is on Friday, May 13 and runs from 8 to 10 a.m. at Fortius Sport & Health, 3713 Kensington Ave.

Pre-registration is required and interested parties can sign up at tinyurl.com/GreenTalks2016 or by calling 604-412-0100.
