The Shadbolt Centre of the Arts will have opera ringing through its halls on Saturday evening with Le Nozze di Figaro.

It’s back! Pirate Pak Day takes place next Wednesday at local White Spots, with a portion of the sales sending kids to Zajac Ranch for Children.

Pirate Paks, usually intended for children, are sold to adults one day annually, raising funds so kids and young adults with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities can go to summer camp, according to a press release from White Spot.

The initiative has raised $347,172 since it began six years ago, the release stated.

The Pirate Pak options for adults are the Legendary Burger, the B.C. Chicken Burger, the Bacon Cheddar Bigger Burger and the Provolone Veggie Burger, with $2 from each Pirate Pak sale on Aug. 12 going to the camp. The Pirate Paks also include fries, coleslaw, a soft drink, ice cream and a chocolate coin in White Spot’s well-known cardboard boat.

White Spot Week takes place at the Zajac Ranch from Aug. 17 to 21.

There are four White Spots in Burnaby – at 7519 Market Crossing, 4075 North Rd., 5550 Kingsway and 4129 Lougheed Hwy.
