Out of 8,000 British Columbian workers employed by Telus, more than 3,000 are right here in Burnaby.

The other Telus connection to Burnaby now includes the company spending $28.5 million in Burnaby on improvements to service.

These include:

Building new wireless infrastructure in response to the increasing demand for enhanced wireless connectivity.

Connecting more households and businesses to the gigabit-enabled Telus PureFibre network, which first came to Burnaby in 2017.

“We welcome this investment in wireless infrastructure in our community by Telus,” said Burnaby Mayor Hurley, in a news release. “Many Burnaby families have relied on high-speed, reliable connections to the internet in order to live, work and play during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is essential that we continue to invest in digital infrastructure to keep our community connected for the future.”
