Attention, theatre lovers — the kids need your support.

A fundraising musical theatre production from Moving Mirrors Productions titled “A Broadway Cabaret” will return this weekend at the Evergreen Cultural Centre after a two-year pandemic hiatus.

The event, featuring music and scenes from some of Broadway’s most well-known shows will take place on Saturday, March 4, at Coquitlam’s Evergreen Cultural Centre at 7 p.m..

All funds from this event will support after-school programming for students (grades 4 to 9) at Gilmore Community School in North Burnaby.

Expect to be impressed by performances from some of your favourite local actors and singers, followed by a silent auction sponsored by small businesses from Burnaby and the Tri-Cities.

Guests can also expect to get an exclusive sneak peak into some numbers from next year's production of The Little Mermaid, to be staged by the young performers.

In a press release, Ryan Phelps, artistic director and board chair of Moving Mirrors Productions, said, “Here’s your chance to help students in the performing arts by supporting young theatrical talent in North Burnaby.”

Tickets are priced at $30 and can be purchased through their website or by calling the Evergreen Cultural Centre box office at 604-927-6555.
