The Burnaby Public Library is celebrating a healthy new year for the planet.

The McGill library branch is showcasing Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie on Jan. 31 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

David Suzuki is a Canadian scientist, broadcaster and environmental activist. In this award-winning documentary, he delivers what he calls his last lecture, a reflection on his life and legacy.

The film includes scenes from the various places and events that shaped Suzuki's life over the last 70 years, including the Japanese internment following the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He encourages people to ask how much is enough in regards to the enormous strain humans are putting on the planet's resources.

The event is free, but space is limited, and registration is required. For more information, visit www.bpl.bc.ca/events/mcgill, or call 604-299-8955. McGill library is at 4595 Albert St.
