What is “resting Grinch face”?

Well, it’s the jokey term for those deep lines between your eyes that make you look angry. At least that’s according to a fun Instagram post from Lux Skin Lab, which is planning on eventually moving into the Amazing Brentwood mall in Burnaby.

“Resting Grinch Face? No problem! Treating your glabellar lines (also known as “11’s”) is easy and painless! With our masks hiding everything else, the glabella is even more important!”

Lux is another interesting addition to the mall expansion project, which includes multiple residential towers with people who will be looking for easy access to a raft of services.

Lux offers at variety of body and skin treatments all in COVID-19-safe conditions – although hopefully by the time they open in the Amazing Brentwood restrictions will be eased.

“The medical providers and staff at LUX are closely monitoring this situation and have put in place reasonable preventive measures targeted to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” reads a message on the Lux site. “All staff are wearing required PPE, we sanitize surfaces and equipment between each patient visit, and we greet all clients with hand sanitizer and a temperature check.”

The Lux news comes on the heels of Shape Properties, which is developing the growing shopping mall and multiple residential towers on the site across from the Brentwood SkyTrain station, updating the NOW on its progress.

To date, 10 stores are now open, including the Sporting Life and Nike, and the mall is now 90% leased out. Some stores have had to delay their openings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Shape said progress on many stores, such as the new Adidas store, have accelerated. The mall is also adding a Suit Supply to its roster of fashion brands.

And Shape also dropped the news that it has scored fashion giants H&M and Urban Outfitters to open mega-stores in the Amazing Brentwood.

Shape also confirmed that Cineplex is still working on construction of two big additions to the Amazing Brentwood. The company, which currently has its theatres closed in B.C. due to COVID-19, is putting the finishing touches on its huge Rec Room entertainment complex that includes video games, arcade games and more. Cineplex is also planning to open a multi-screen VIP movie theatre in another area of the Amazing Brentwood. Cineplex also operates a theatre at Metropolis at Metrotown.
