In time to discuss Burnaby's secondary suite program and address affordable housing issues, Acorn Canada is launching a chapter in the city.

The national organization is taking root in Burnaby and will hold an open meeting to elect its chair and co-chair on June 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Anglican Church of Canada on 7405 Royal Oak Ave.

Marcos Gomez, of Acorn, said the group wants to have as much community engagement as possible to work on the affordable housing issue in the city.

A tentative meeting has been scheduled for June 12 when the new Acorn chapter will meet with some members of Burnaby council.
