Alex Hui is running for school board with TEAM Burnaby:
Alex immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong as a teenager, studied at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, relocated to Burnaby in 1992 - all the while spending a lifelong career as a CN locomotive engineer. Alex will be turning 60 next year and has always been a passionate volunteer in different capacities, such as translator for non-profit organizations, executive team member on clubs and councils. Currently, he is serving as vice-president of the CN Pensioners Association. As an adoptive parent in his early retirement, Alex is also experienced in working with children as a volunteer coach on his six-year-old son's soccer team and an Awana leader with children. Actively involved in his son's many academic, artistic, and sporting activities, Alex is conversant with parents of school-age children, shares in their joy and aspiration for their children, as well as concerns and issues of their education.
As a Burnaby school trustee, Alex's passion is to bring a parent's heart that puts the interest of students first. His vision is to work with parents to ensure accountability and productivity in the allocation of educational resources in our schools, in providing the best opportunity for all students.
