Anne Kang is running for Burnaby city council with the Burnaby Citizens Association:

A Burnaby resident since 1986, Anne Kang has lived in the Maywood, Cascade Heights and Inman neighbourhoods. She was raised in a family that strongly values community involvement and volunteerism.

Anne studied at the University of British Columbia where she earned two degrees and a master of special education. She also holds Montessori certification. She currently teaches Grade 4 and 5 students in the Burnaby school district where she has gained further insight into the important connection between great public services and healthy, growing communities.

Anne's passion for working with people is reflected in her strong record of dedication to enhancing her community by taking on leadership roles with a number of organizations including the TIO Group for young professionals; Progressive Housing Society; Taiwanese Cultural Festival; Vancouver Heritage Society and as a youth and young adult leader with the Tai Kong United Church.

Anne is seeking re-election to a second term as a Burnaby Citizens Association candidate for city council as she believes Burnaby is a beautiful city with well-run services. "I like to continue to keep Burnaby strong by contributing to environmental and green initiatives. As well, I recognize Burnaby's changing demographics and increasing multicultural population and want to help connect newcomers with services and help them understand their rights as Burnaby citizens," she says.

Anne is 34 years old, lives and works in Burnaby and together with her husband, is a busy parent of two pre-school children. She is seeking your support for re-election to Burnaby city council.
