Burnaby RCMP arson investigators are continuing to look into a Saturday night fire in the Edmonds area.
Just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Burnaby police and firefighters were called to a home in the 7700 block of 11th Avenue. Firefighters then fought a fire that appears to have started in the basement.
"The early indications are (that) it appears to be an arson," said Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Brenda Gresiuk. "We don't believe it's a targeted incident, but it is a suspicious fire and we will be doing a complete investigation."
Gresiuk said one man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Fire crews managed to contain the fire to the basement, but the house sustained substantial smoke damage.
