The provincial government donated $10,000 to the Scandinavian Community Centre on Saturday to build two new wheelchair ramps.

The existing wheelchair ramps have become too steep because the land is settling. The funding will help cover the cost of removing them and installing new ones so people in wheelchairs can access the building more safely.

The non-profit centre provides a meeting place for Lower Mainland Scandinavians, while promoting Nordic culture.
