SCRD crews worked through the night on Nov. 15 in an effort to restore water service to residents on Reed Road.

After more than a week on a water boil advisory, residents in the Reed Road area of Gibsons and Elphinstone can once again use their tap water without boiling it first.

The Sunshine Coast Regional District announced on Nov. 24 that the boil water advisory was lifted as of 11:15 a.m.

Testing by Vancouver Coastal Health showed the water was once again safe to use and consume.

Previously, residents in Halfmoon Bay's Welcome Woods area were also on a boil water advisory until Nov. 20, after the issues with the water main arose during the Nov. 15 storm.
