(Update) Budgie named 'Chicken feet' lost in Burnaby

Bird last see flying west from Royal Oak SkyTrain station

A budgie is at large in Burnaby, and its owner is looking for help finding her.

Named Ji zhua (or “Chicken feet”), the black, white and blue bird escaped as her owner, Jason Guan, was bringing her up from an underground parkade in his townhouse building.

Ji zhua was last seen flying west from the Royal Oak SkyTrain station at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Guan told the NOW.

The female budgie “likes to perch on high branches and loves to eat millet,” according to a post by Guan on Reddit.

“She is almost 1 year old and doesn't respond to name well,” the post stated. “She is hand tamed and a fast flyer, if seen please let me know or contact Burnaby bcspca.”

Guan has been out in the area playing budgie song in an attempt to get the lost bird to sing, but he has had no luck so far, he said.

Anyone with information on Ji zhua's whereabouts is asked to contact Guan at 604-767-0956 or the Burnaby SPCA at 604-291-7201.

This article has been changed. The original said Ji zhua was last seen on Thursday. She was, in fact, last seen on Wednesday, according to Guan.
