The City of Burnaby approved 1,803 permits in 2012, but those permits only brought in $514.67 million, the lowest amount the city has brought in since 2009.
In 2011, The City of Burnaby issued 1,729 permits and brought in $615.53 mil-lion, according to the city's most recent building permit tabulation report.
The majority of the permits for 2012 were for alterations or repairs, the report stated.
In all, the city issued 472 building permits for single-family residences, 51 for two-family residences, 117 for multi-family residences, 459 for commercial buildings, 250 for industrial buildings, 47 for public buildings and 407 demolition permits.
