Building Welcoming and Inclusive Workplaces workshop takes place Thursday

The Burnaby Board of Trade is presenting a workshop on how to build welcoming and inclusive workplaces tomorrow.

The Burnaby Board of Trade is presenting a workshop on how to build welcoming and inclusive workplaces tomorrow.

The free 90-minute workshop is intended for employers, managers, and human resource specialists looking to hire and include new immigrant staff in the workplace, according to the board's website.

Those attending will be given a guidebook of tools, tips, strategies and links to additional resources.

This workshop was developed by DIVERSEcity Community Resources, with funding from the provincial and federal governments, according to the board.

Jody Johnson, a principal at PEERs Employment and Education Resources Inc., will be presenting at the Feb. 2 workshop, which runs from 9 until 10:30 a.m.

Breakfast will be provided, and breakfast and registration begin at 8:30 a.m.

The presentation begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown, 6083 McKay Ave.

Burnaby Board of Trade presents Business Over Breakfast

The Burnaby Board of Trade is also hosting a networking event this Friday, called Business Over Breakfast.

The event is part of the board's bi-monthly breakfast series.

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the Riverway Clubhouse, 9001 Bill Fox Way.

The event is being facilitated by Sue Clement of Success Coaching, according to the board's website.
