Burnaby bakery owner responds after shocked mom calls city over ‘genitalia cookies’ (video)

Punk Rock Pastries told by the City of Burnaby to issue a disclaimer.

The owner of one of Burnaby’s most popular bakeries has issued a funny disclaimer video after a shocked mother actually contacted the city after seeing “genitalia cookies” on shelves.

Hollie Fraser, owner of Punk Rock Pastries at 5548 Hastings St., posted a video on the company’s Instagram account (you can watch it below) after the City of Burnaby contacted her based on a complaint by a local mom who visited the store with her child.

The mom apparently told the city about “genitalia cookies” being sold by Punk Rock Pastries. The bakery’s Instagram account includes photos of adorable penis cookies. (Scroll through the photos above to see them.)

Fraser said the city told her to issue a disclaimer and so she did – with a lot of laughter at having to do so.

“Our store is not for anyone under the age of 16,” Fraser says in the video. “We are not a child-friendly store. Sorry, I can’t contain my laughter but this is pretty funny.”

Punk Rock Pastries, which has been featured on TV’s Food Network, is known for its bold pastry designs, such as realistic human hearts and scary desserts around Halloween or writing “bite me” on cupcakes for Valentine’s Day. Fraser is known for her work helping the community, such as raising money to help out Australia after the country was hit by devastating wildfires.
