The Burnaby Blooms Festival is returning for 2022 after a two-year hiatus.

After a two year absence, gardeners will be able to get their fill at the Burnaby Blooms Festival.

The city has announced a kick-off event on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts at Deer Lake Park. The event is returning for the first time since 2019.

The festival will include gardening workshops, plant sales, educational and cultural walking tours, a speaker series, roving performers, live music, a kid's stage and an eco-art installation curated by local Burnaby artist Nickie Lewis.

Three micro-events will also be held in May at different parks throughout the city, where people can participate in activities and demonstrations that are suitable for all ages.

Events will take place at:

  • Confederation Park - May 14
  • Central Park - May 21
  • Burnaby Mountain Conservation area - May 28
