Burnaby’s school board slate for the November civic election promises to be another crowded one.
The Burnaby Citizens Association (BCA) nominated a full complement of candidates at a nomination meeting Saturday.
In February, TEAM Burnaby promised to do the same come July.
All but one BCA incumbent on the Burnaby Board of Education will run again in November.
Trustee James Wang beat out Katy Alkins-Jang (currently a Parks, Recreation and Culture commissioner) to earn a city council nomination left vacant by Coun. Richard Chang, who will not seek reelection.
Parks commissioner Katrina Chen was acclaimed to take Wang’s place on the trustee ticket.
Besides Chen, BCA’s candidates for the November election are Baljinder Narang, Ron Burton, Harman Pandher, Gary Wong, Larry Hayes and Meiling Chia.
In 2012, Burnaby boasted more trustee candidates, 23, than any other city in the province except Chilliwack.
