Updated provincial data shows the slow COVID-19 vaccination rate in eligible Burnaby children is still continuing.

The BC Centre for Disease Control's (BCCDC) vaccine coverage progress by local health area update shows second doses for eligible children aged 5-11 increased just one per cent to 54% from April 24 to May 1, 2022.

Percentages across Fraser Health as of May 21, 2022, are as follows:

  • Tri-Cities - 51%
  • Surrey - 36%
  • South Surrey/White Rock - 48%
  • New Westminster - 54%
  • Mission - 24%
  • Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows - 41%
  • Langley - 39%
  • Hope - 19%
  • Delta - 48%
  • Chilliwack - 27%
  • Burnaby - 54%
  • Agassiz/Harrison - 22%
  • Abbotsford - 25%

Here's how to get your child vaccinated in B.C.

In order to be vaccinated, five-to-11-year-olds must first be registered in B.C.'s Get Vaccinated system, after which time an invitation will be sent (by text or email) to book an appointment.

You can find all the information online at B.C.'s pediatric vaccine page, or call the central vaccination line at 1-833-838-2323.
