Burnaby Extreme Weather Response alert extended as more snow coming

More cold weather is on the way for Metro Vancouver which has prompted the Burnaby Society to End Homelessness to extend an extreme weather alert.

The Burnaby Society to End Homelessness has extended an extreme weather alert as cold temperatures and snow are forecasted to stay in place. 

Environment Canada says snowfall accumulation of five to 10 centimetres is expected this evening through to tomorrow morning, with close to five centimetres expected to accumulate rapidly within three to six hours overnight. 

Overnight temperatures are expected to hover around -5 C tonight with a wind chill of -19 C (Dec. 29) and -8 C tomorrow (Dec. 30).

The extreme weather alert has been extended for Dec. 29 and 30, 2021.
