Burnaby firefighters have had a busy few days that have included two amazing rescues.
One of these rescued involved a teen mountain biker who had been injured on what is listed as “Nicole’s Trail” near SFU on Burnaby Mountain, according to the @IAFF323 Twitter account.
The photo from this account shows Burnaby Fire Rescue staff in full oxygen gear carrying the teen in a stretcher and then hiking down the mountain.
According to the WalkBC website, “Nicole’s Trail” is listed as a “challenging hiking and mountain biking trail that ascends steeply on the south flank of Burnaby Mountain … There are very steep sections and drop-offs on this trail where extreme caution must be exercised.”

The NOW has reached out to the Burnaby Fire Department for more details on the teen’s condition.
The @IAFF323 Twitter account also described a dramatic rescue late last week in which the “trapped occupant” in a house fire was saved.
