The Burnaby man charged with obstruction of justice in the death of a hang glider in the Fraser Valley on April 28 will appear in Chilliwack Provincial Court on Wednesday afternoon.

William Johnathan Orders, 50, of Burnaby, is scheduled for a show/cause hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Orders is facing the charge after 27-year-old Lenami Godinez-Avila fell 300 metres to her death Saturday shortly after she and Orders launched off Mount Woodside near Agassiz.

Orders was arrested and charged Monday with obstructing justice.

Police investigators are alleging he "withheld potential key evidence which could help determine whether he played a role in any wrongdoing."
