Two Burnaby robbery suspects were arrested by the Vancouver Police on Thursday, according to a press release from Sgt. Gursharn Ranu, a media relations officer with the Burnaby RCMP.
The suspects were arrested for allegedly robbing a Burnaby liquor store on Tuesday night, the release stated, and were apprehended soon after the offense was committed.
"The victim was able to assist police with good information, which led to us tracking the suspects to Vancouver's Downtown Eastside," Ranu said. "Vancouver Police arrested the suspects after a short foot chase - another good example of how we work together jointly to keep our citizens safe."
William Watts, 41, is a Vancouver resident and is charged with robbery with a weapon. He will be appearing in provincial court today in Vancouver. Watts was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large at the time of this alleged offense, according to the release.
Gordon Tremblay, 41, is also a Vancouver resident and is charged with robbery with a weapon. He will be appearing in Vancouver provincial court today, as well.
Both are well known to police, according to Ranu.
