A 62-year-old Burnaby man was the victim of a construction-site accident in south Vancouver.

The work site remained closed Wednesday after the retaining wall collapsed and killed the worker a day earlier.

WorkSafe B.C. spokeswoman Donna Freeman said the wall collapsed Tuesday afternoon during a residential home demolition and the incident is being investigated by Work Safe B.C. and the coroners office.

Freeman said no one else was injured. The victims name is not being released.

He was a concrete cutter, she said. Two workers were cutting the concrete retaining wall, and they had finished the task and were exiting the area when the wall fell.

The home is located in the 4500-block of Langara Avenue.

Freeman said investigators are talking with a number of contractors who were working at the scene.
