Burnaby has a military hero who is getting shown a lot of deserved love.

Army Colonel (Ret.) Howe Lee was at Burnaby-Deer Lake MLA Anne Kang's office recently, where he was presented with a framed Hansard transcript of what Kang said in the legislature about his distinguished military history.

Lee is a third-generation Chinese-Canadian with a distinguished military career of 35 years, which included command positions as the CO of 156 Company, RCASC, the 2I/C of The Royal Westminster Regiment, the CO of the 12th Service Battalion, and numerous staff positions with Brigade. Lee is also the founder and first president of the Chinese Canadian Military Museum, among the many contributions to our Canadian community, including that he was also a teacher for 40 years in Burnaby.

Chinese-Canadian Historical Society of B.C. also recently recognized Lee for his service.
