Burnaby Mounties are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a stabbing last month.

According to RCMP, the incident happened around 3 a.m. on Oct. 8 when police got a call about a man that had been stabbed in the chest and arm during an attempted robbery in the 5900 block of Wilson Avenue.

Police note the victim received medical attention and has since been released from hospital.

The alleged suspect is described as a man, possibly Hispanic, standing five feet 10-inches tall with a thin build.  He was last seen wearing all black clothing and riding a skateboard in the area of Willingdon Avenue and Central Boulevard.

This week, Mounties released a sketch of the suspect to help drum up more leads.

“We have pursued a number of investigative leads and are currently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect,” said RCMP Cpl. Daniela Panesar in a statement. “The Burnaby RCMP hopes that this sketch will assist the investigators.”

It is unclear if the victim or suspect knew each other prior to the attack.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP Investigative Services Team (IST) at 604-294-7922.
