Burnaby needs feedback on Brentwood Development plan

Virtual open house being hosted on March 9
A rendering of the Brentwood West Master Plan.

The City of Burnaby is seeking feedback for rezoning in the Brentwood Development Plan.

The Brentwood West site is a collection of six properties (4430, 4488 Halifax Street, 1801, 1925, 1967 Willingdon Avenue and 4461 Lougheed Highway) and is located at the northwest coroner of Willingdon Avenue and Lougheed Highway in the Brentwood Town Centre.

The city says the current plans are to change the site's current high-density commercial designation to high-density mixed-use.

The proposed development would see more than 1,400 new homes between strata, market rental, moderate-income rental and affordable rental housing in a variety of sizes.

There would also be more than 650,000 square feet of commercial spaces, a new public square and improvements to city streets, sidewalks and cycle paths.

The city is hosting a virtual open house on March 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. where the public can share thoughts on the proposals.

Those interested in attending are asked to register by emailing The public is also welcome to submit questions and feedback through email if they are unable to attend the open house.
