Oh how the truth is different.

The City of Burnaby has posted that it’s trying to hire a bunch of summer “program leaders” and that the pay is $21.66 an hour.

“Are you looking for a job leading high quality, safe and fun recreation programs for children,” reads the post. “Our staff team is dedicated and dynamic and is looking for others who share their goal of putting kids first! In this role you will ensure participant satisfaction, customer service and fun are your main priorities. You will plan and lead summer camp and playground activities in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. These programs will take place in various playgrounds/parks and facilities throughout Burnaby.”

Burnaby has recently been designated a living wage-certified community.
