As if the COVID-19 news isn’t bad enough with everything being shut down.

Now comes a new report on rental housing that says Burnaby prices continue to skyrocket.

PadMapper just released its latest Canadian National Rent Report. It analyzed hundreds of thousands of listings last month to examine rent prices across the 24 largest cities in the country.

Burnaby ranked as the third most expensive rental market in the nation last month with the prices of one and two bedrooms settling at medians of $1,800 and $2,350, respectively.

Notably, the price of one bedrooms is up 14.6% since this time last year. Housing prices have generally dropped across the board, but rents continue to climb.
