The Burnaby RCMP announced Wednesday morning they have arrested a suspected cocaine trafficker for the second time in three years and seized close to $60,000 in cash, a hydraulic cocaine press and several cell phones.
The arrest comes after a seven-month RCMP project which utilized sophisticated surveillance techniques, a number of judicial authorizations and police work, which led to the search of two homes associated to a Burnaby man.
The man had been arrested by the Burnaby RCMP drug section in 2009, convicted of trafficking in cocaine, and he was on parole at the time of this arrest. The man has been since been returned to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence.
"We will be keeping a close eye on this individual once he is released from prison again," Sgt. Scott Rintoul of the Burnaby RCMP drug section said in a press release.
