Now thats teamwork.

RCMP in Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Ridge-Meadows helped out with surveillance efforts and enforcement Thursday that led to the arrest of four men believed to be involved in a violent robbery.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, four men were arrested after allegedly robbing a retail phone store in the 19800 block of Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows. The suspects allegedly used bear spray during the incident, and store employees had to be treated for exposure to the spray. No other injuries were reported.

All police agencies recently reported a significant increase in personal and retail cellphone robberies. Burnaby RCMP worked with other police agencies to try to identify people of interest.

Burnaby RCMP co-ordinated this surveillance initiative, which included members from Coquitlam, Ridge Meadows, the Lower Mainland district and the integrated emergency response team.

The investigation continues.
